We have just announced  PHOTOBOOK!!2011, a call for work for our second annual photobook exhibition and sale.  Twenty photobooks will be selected for this show with the four “best-of-show” photographers exhibiting up to four prints each in the gallery.  Along with the exhibition and gallery sale, we create an online catalog of the twenty books that the Davis Orton Gallery hosts for the upcoming year.  Photographers can submit up to three separate titles for consideration.  Deadline, October 15.

Last year’s exhibition/sale proved to be a very popular destination in Hudson.  Mark and I observed that visitors spent considerable time going from book to book, reading cover to cover.  The exhibit also helped introduce the public to self-published books by photographers as an art form in its own right.
